Breakfast early at a sort of fast food place. Fried dough we dipped into a soy sauce sprinkled with cilantro and chive. There was soy milk sweetened with sugar, porridge with tiny tiny shrimp, beans & bits of crispy fat. Tea eggs.
From there we walked to Aunt Mu Nai's for a short visit-conversation as yesterday-like with Italian relatives, loud, boisterous and full of belly laughs. We were told how to get to the White Pagoda but we took the wrong turn into a gate and ended elsewhere.
Stopped at a grocery on the way home and shopped for tomorrow's visit to the Great Wall and the Ming Tombs. An amazing experience:two floors of groceries, alcohol, produce, breads, canned and fresh meats, dry good etc. I was so sensory overloaded and Nathan was feeling so bad with cold symptoms that we decided to go home. Spent the day in my room, slept, listened to music. Dinner late at 7 pm. Xiao Jing returned from Mu Nai's at 7:30. Busy day tomorrow--Ming Tombs & Great Wall.
